MHS WIND ENSEMBLE
The McAlester High School Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Mr. Mark Price, and is a musical group composed of highly skilled students. This ensemble includes a diverse array of wind and percussion instruments, featuring sections for flutes, clarinets, oboes, bassoons, saxophones, trumpets, horns, trombones, euphoniums, tubas, and various percussion instruments.

The Wind Ensemble typically performs a wide repertoire of music, ranging from classical wind band literature to contemporary pieces and popular arrangements.

Ensemble members engage in regular rehearsals to refine their technical skills, ensemble cohesion, and musical expression. They often perform at school concerts, community events, regional and state competitions, showcasing their talent and representing their school with pride. The ensemble also provides educational opportunities for its members, helping them develop discipline, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for music.

In addition to performances, the McAlester High School Wind Ensemble may participate in workshops, clinics, and festivals, sometimes collaborating with guest conductors to enhance their musical experience. Through these activities, students gain valuable insights and inspiration, further enriching their musical journey.
